The GY-HC900 family can send completed clips automatically or manually to FTP, SFTP, implicit FTPS, or explicit FTPES destinations. Wired Ethernet is built in; CHU/CHE variants also provide internal Wi-Fi, while supported HOST USB adapters can add other paths. HD+Web proxy recording can be split and uploaded in chunks during recording.

Automatic chunked upload is format-dependent. Use current firmware and the current supported-adapter list; FTP resume is unavailable with SFTP. Physical Camera to Anywhere interoperability is not yet lab-verified.

Gather these items first, then enter the Camera to Anywhere job credential exactly as issued. The camera sends to the public ingest edge; your private destinations stay downstream.

PREREQUISITES

    Current GY-HC900-family firmware.

    Built-in Ethernet, built-in Wi-Fi on the applicable CHU/CHE variant, or a supported HOST USB adapter.

    A short recorded test clip and, for chunk testing, media configured for the documented HD+Web proxy workflow.

    Camera to Anywhere host, protocol, port, credentials, and destination directory.

  5. 05

    Expected server fingerprint for SFTP/FTPS/FTPES.

CONNECTION FIELDS

Alias

A concise job/destination label.

Displayed in manual and auto server selection.

Protocol

FTP, SFTP, FTPS (implicit), or FTPES (explicit); do not choose ZIXI for Camera to Anywhere.

Must match the destination listener.

Server

Camera to Anywhere hostname or IP address.

Identifies the receiver.

Port

Exact assigned port; protocol defaults may not match deployment.

Connects to the active ingress service.

Dir. Path

The assigned remote input directory.

Routes clips to the correct workflow.

Username

Per-camera/source username.

Authenticates and identifies the source.

Password

Issued source password.

Completes authentication.

PASV Mode

On for FTP/FTPS/FTPES behind NAT; unavailable for SFTP.

Uses passive FTP data connections.

Upload Slot / Server

The recording slot and Clip-FTP alias used by Auto FTP.

Determines which completed clips are watched and where they are sent.

Division

An approved interval only for HD+Web Slot-B proxy chunking.

Controls how frequently a growing proxy recording is split and uploaded.

MEDIA BEHAVIOR
  • Auto FTP watches the configured recording-media slot.
  • Chunked upload operates on proxy recording in Slot B when System is HD+Web.
  • Manual upload can select all playable clips in the thumbnail context.
  • Transfer status remains visible from the status screen.
  • A smaller same-name remote file can offer append-style Resume.
LIMITS + WARNINGS
  • If recording starts on the same slot while its FTP transfer is active, that transfer is interrupted.
  • FTP transfer does not run during live streaming or Return over IP.
  • FTP transfer is disabled when Record Format > System is High-Speed.
  • Automatic chunking is limited to the documented HD+Web Slot-B proxy workflow.
  • Resume is disabled for SFTP and HTTP FTP proxy operation.
  • Built-in Wi-Fi applies only to documented HC900 variants; use Ethernet or a supported adapter otherwise.
FIELD VERIFICATION

Run this checklist on the exact body, firmware, network, and media format you will use on assignment.

  1. 01The selected LAN/Wi-Fi path has an IP.
  2. 02Clip Server profile and secure fingerprint are verified.
  3. 03A manual short clip uploads with matching bytes.
  4. 04Auto FTP sends a newly completed clip from the configured slot.
  5. 05If required, an HD+Web Slot-B test produces sequential chunks during recording.
  6. 06Live-stream, high-speed, slot-conflict, and resume limitations are documented in the event runbook.
TROUBLESHOOTING

If it will not send,
start here.

01Auto Upload stays Off

Set Upload to Auto, leave High-Speed recording mode, choose Slot and Server, then turn Auto Upload On.

02Transfer stops when recording starts

Do not record to the slot currently selected for auto FTP, or schedule transfer for the other slot.

03Chunked upload does not start

Confirm System is HD+Web, proxy recording is on Slot B, Division is not Off, and Auto Upload is On.

04Cannot connect/authenticate

Verify network path, Server, Port, Protocol, Username, Password, and Dir. Path.

05Resume unavailable

Use a resume-capable non-SFTP endpoint without HTTP proxy and a smaller partial file from the same clip.
